APPLICATION OF HARD WAXES - BASES

Wear gloves and follow all steps for a careful application and a race waxing successful.

First polish up the ski sole with a manual brass brush
|

|
Heighten the microstructures using a corundum fiber sandwiched between the ski sole and your brush |

Set the recommended setting temperature (write on the package)
Melt the wax and drop a few drops on the ski sole
|

OR
Heat the wax on the soleplate and rub it on the ski sole
Appropriate method for soft and semi-hard waxes |

OR
Grate the wax over the ski sole (use a mini cheese grater)
Appropriate method for hard waxes (Cold et Very-cold)

Spread the wax slowly with light pressure on the iron
|

|
Cool 1' maximum
Clean the edges and center channel with a pencil
|

|
Scrape off carefully the ski sole with a sharped plexiglass scraper
|

|
Brush the skis from tip to tail with a hard nylon brush |

OR
Brush with a medium nylon rotaring brush |

|
Brush again with a soft manual hair brush to get a polished effect |

|
Polish with a synthetic wool or a stocking nylon
|
